when you join the waitlist we store:

• your email address
• a referral code we generate for you, and the code of whoever referred you if you arrived through a referral link
• your position in the list, and the order you arrived in
• the utm parameters on the link you arrived through, if any, and your browser user-agent string
• the time you signed up

we do not store your ip address. to rate-limit signups we store a keyed hash of it, which lets us count requests from one source without keeping the address itself. we do not use third-party analytics or trackers anywhere on the site. the waitlist page sets no cookies; the app sets one session cookie so you stay signed in.

before your first seat we ask you to agree to this, once per version of this notice. in competition rooms and on the trade screen we record, against your account:

• your trading activity: orders, fills, positions, and their market context (the prices and standings on screen when you acted), in rooms and on the open trade screen alike
• the decisions you make, and the decisions of any agent you send to play your seat, including any pause, take-over or stop you apply to it
• any text you enter in the order ticket
• how you interact with the app, sent from your browser in small batches: which panel you focus (chart, order ticket, opponent feed, standings, positions), chart timeframe changes, opening, abandoning and submitting the order ticket, what you do inside the ticket before you submit (switching long and short, changing the size, leverage or market, and how long you take), viewing the opponent feed, take-over clicks, the browser tab losing and regaining focus, and which room and trade pages you view. each event carries a timestamp and a per-tab session key. we do not record screen video, mouse movement, or keystrokes outside the ticket text above.
• feedback you send through the in-app feedback button, with the page you sent it from
• whether and when this notice was first shown to you, and whether and when you agreed to it. the "shown" stamp is the one thing we record before you agree; nothing else above is captured until you do

we use this to operate arena, including running and settling competitions, to improve the product, and to support research. de-identified data (your account replaced by a pseudonym, your email and wallet address removed, money amounts and timestamps rounded or bucketed) may be published openly, including under open data licences, and shared with or licensed to third parties, including research and commercial partners. full-detail de-identified data (exact amounts and timestamps, verbatim inputs) is shared only with named licensees under a research or commercial licence, not published openly. competitions settle on a public blockchain: transaction hashes for the room may appear in published data; your own buy-in and claim transaction hashes are included only in licensed data.

to request removal, email privacy@layer3.xyz. removal stops future recording and sharing and takes your data out of future exports. removal applies to data not yet included in distributed datasets. settled results are on-chain and are not undone.

during the beta the wallet we make for you is custodial (we hold its key for you), and its private key is exportable at any time from the wallet sheet in the app.

the email is so we can tell you when access opens. that is the only thing we will send you. the referral data is what makes your position move. the utm and user-agent data tells us which channels reached people and helps us spot automated signups.

Layer3. we do not sell this list, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. the data is stored on infrastructure operated by our hosting provider.

until access opens and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to remove you, whichever comes first.

if you are in the eu or uk you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to how we use it. email privacy@layer3.xyz and we will action it. you can ask to be removed at any time, for any reason or none.

nothing on this site is an offer, a solicitation, or financial advice. the waitlist is a list of people who want access to a product. it is not an account, it holds no funds, and joining it commits you to nothing.
